This was one of the last available stands with a sea view within a beautiful private estate in Plett. This build came with its challenges as it was on a very steep slope and we had to overcome the problem of clay in the sub-soil. Despite this, it was built within a year thanks to lots of early on decision making, selection of finishes, careful planning and daily on-site project management. We’re delighted with the end result.
This was a new build. Lots of planning went into designing and creating this home, situated in a beautiful Jacaranda tree-lined street. The positioning of the house on the property allowed us to create a vast entertaining area at the entrance leading onto a huge patio and on to a beautiful lawned garden with a lap pool. The volume gave one the feeling of grandeur from every corner of the home but we incorporated areas of privacy off each of the bedroom areas. The home was built within 9 months and within budget.
This apartment has the most beautiful 180 degree views of the ocean and the magnificent Keurbooms River mouth. It was built in the 80’s and some unsightly workmanship had been done to it over the years, which had to be undone and then modernised throughout. We opened up the kitchen to bring in more light and this made the entire living area feel much bigger. The old fashioned stippled walls and ceilings were re-plastered to a smooth finish that blended in with newly laid Husky White satin-creted floors. We nipped and tucked some of the walls for better symmetry and added a built-in feature wall unit with light wood cabinetry and shelving, for warmth. All light fittings, door handles and taps were replaced with new black fittings for bold contrast. The bathroom fittings, vanities and bedroom cupboards were all replaced. White American shutters were fitted throughout and all new décor was tastefully styled-in to complete the picture. It took four months to renovate this into a fresh, new, beautifully finished apartment, for renting out to holidaymakers by the new owners.
This charming home, nestled in a private estate in Plettenberg Bay, boasts a large self-contained apartment with stunning sea views. Though spacious, the two bedrooms and kitchen lacked charm and needed fresh finishes to transform them into a modern, cozy, and independent home. Originally, only one bedroom had an en-suite bathroom, while the second bathroom was dark and inconveniently located across a passage. We reconfigured the layout to provide en-suite access, adding elegant shutter doors and sidelight windows for enhanced natural light. New built-in cupboards and contemporary bathroom fittings were installed, and lighter floor and wall tiles replaced the dated brown ones. We opened up the kitchen to the dining and living area, introducing an airy, light-filled space. A built-in feature wall unit with a fireplace was added to the lounge, while white walls and new light oak vinyl floors and shelving brightened the entire apartment. A sleek shaker-style kitchen replaced the tired old one, and upgraded lighting with dimmers and undershelf LEDs brought a modern touch. This delightful four-month project was completed on time and under budget, much to the satisfaction of our clients.
This was an old home situated on Millionaires Bend that had been in the family for over 50 years before it was sold. When the opportunity arose to buy it back we decided to completely renovate the house situated on the rivers edge. We had to work within the existing footprint, but with a very clever design we achieved a five-bedroom house with a wrap-around verandah, taking it from a 160sqm2 to over 300 sqm under roof. Being within the flood line presented us with some challenges in dealing with the Rand Water Board who imposed stringent restrictions, but with persistence and solid project management, we managed to achieve this beautiful modern farm house overlooking the new boathouse on the water’s edge.
This old sixties house presented us with a good shell to work with, and the tall palm trees lining the driveway was to be kept as a focal entrance to the property. We designed the renovation using most of the existing outer walls of the house and with tested foundations we were able to add another level and double the size of the home. With a lot of meticulous planning and working closely with the builder we achieved this transformation within 9 months, and within budget.
